Back in July, I posted the following and never got an answer. I'm
wondering if someone can please help...I'll post it again here...but
I'm still having a similar problem, this time with Virtual Printer.
While I'm in Excel I try to print to Virtual Printer and another
desktop icon drops for Virtual Printer 2, Virtual Printer 3, etc...each
time I do that. Thing is, I can't get the file to make the .ps file. I'm
getting a big error dialog box in Excel saying it could be caused by
a number of things, then I notice a new icon drops on the desktop.
Can someone please tell me why this happens and how to fix the
problem?...as you'll see below from my old post...it happened to
Create Adobe PS as well.
OLD POST:
specs:
Mac OS 9.2.2
Adobe Acrobat 5.05
Adobe PS 8.7.2
Virtual Printer 8.7.0 (101)
I just had a hard drive crash, got a new drive, and in reinstalling
all my software, I couldn't get the Virtual Printer icon to setup on
the desktop like I used to have. I tried a number of diff AdobePS
and Virtual Printer versions until I finally got it to work after
reinstalling Acrobat, but now, for some reason also got the Create
Adobe PDF PPD. On the desktop, now that I have the Virtual
Printer icon, I select it, then from Quark I go to print to Acrobat
Distiller so I can get my .ps file (to run thru Distiller later) but each
time I say PRINT, the selection leaves the Virtual Printer icon for a
second, then a Create Adobe PDF icon shows up...it keeps
happening and I trash it each time it appears. It's now on Create
Adobe PDF15! I even took CreateAdobePDF out of the Printer
Description folder and threw it on the desktop for now. How do I
get rid of this problem? do I have the wrong versions to use
Virtual Printer correctly?
Thanks in advance!
