if anyone can help, i've created a pdf (acr. 6) from Quark (5/pc) by printing to the "Adobe PDF" Printer. The document prints fine, except that it's missing the apostrophe's, quotation, and em dashes...there are blank spaces in the pdf, not highlightable in acrobat.

I tried embedding and not embedding the font, downloading substitute, changing the font, etc...nothing worked.

I'm using frutiger 45 light as my body font, when i print the same document set up in powerpoint (2003), using the "convert to pdf" - it works fine - the apostrophes, etc show up having been converted to "univers 45". I can see that the first step in the distilling process is remapping fonts, which I assume the distiller is not doing from the quark doc.

Anyone know how i can change the settings? can i edit the ppd?
