Topic: Apply image to a signature field?

We have a PDF form with several signature fields. The signature fields are for storing electronic signatures (hand writing), which are captured via a Topaz capture device and a corresponding Acrobat plug-in. All of that works fine.

Now we have a requirement to "pre-save" signatures (as images) and then provide a menu item or button in Acrobat that will allow the user to apply the pre-saved signature (JPEG) to a signature field. We have a way to save the signature as an image, but I can't find a way with the Acrobat 6 SDK to apply that image to a signature field in a form. Is this even possible? Can a digital signature field be assigned an image?

Thanks in advance for suggestions.
