We're using the PDF library. We're currently very puzzled because when we do an emit to printer the PS we generate is far larger than when we do an emit to file.

Both are also quite a bit larger than saving to a file in Acrobat or printing to a file.

It would appear that the PDF libraries are quite a bit less efficient than Acrobat, which we thought was written in them.

We bought these libraries because using Acrobat on a server for a "back office" application is a license violation, but the results aren't at all impressive. Datalogics (who resells the libraries) just kinda says that's the way it goes - but we're thinking something we're doing (or not doing) is causing the issue.

Has anyone ever seen this behavior? If I post the code on the save, can someone comment on it?

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
