I have MS Office XP Pro installed on my laptop and my desktop, both running Windows XP SP1. I installed Acrobat 6.0 Pro and the (.o1 update) on the desktop. I get the Adobe toolbar icons in Word, Excel, ..... When I open a document in Word then select the button to make the pdf, the filename/location window opens, I click the open button, the conversion window comes up and gets started....then everything stops. I have to close the windows and get a Word not responding message window. I end the program.. I have no problem when I use the PDFPrinter method from the print menu to create a pdf... Distiller does okay if I give it a post script file...The scanner option and the html works great too. I tried to reload both Office and Adobe with no help...I've tried turning off my McAfee virus program. I loaded Adobe on the laptop and everything works perfect, but I don't want it on that computer.
I watched the steps on the laptop and I found that after selecting the file name and location on the laptop....it opens the pdfprinter and I get an icon in my taskbar ...then the conversion starts and I get the rotating Adobe icon also ...then the file is made.
With the desktop , it never opens the pdfprinter and never starts the rotating adobe icon...
Both systems have the exact same programs and the same files in the same locations.
ANY IDEAS ???
