The Acrobat/Reader 6 search pane has caused a lot of grief for people who publish material on CD. I designed a PDF search form, using the search.query method. In Reader 5 this would instantly return a list of hit documents. In Reader 6 when the user clicked the search button on my search form a search pane would open and the user would have to click the search button in that pane. If a search included a docinfo field (eg 'Subject~manifold'), the user has to first select the Advanced Search option, then select 'Boolean' and then click the search button. Absolutely pathetic!
Has Acrobat/Reader 7 reverted to the fast and elegant search functionality of 5?
