Topic: Creating a fillable form from a regular form

I have 10 forms on a website that users have to print, fill out and mail in. We want to make these forms fillable so they can fill them out electronically, but still print and mail in because signatures are required.

I have never created a pdf before and am finding adobe's website very difficult to manoeuvre when I have no idea what product I need.

Can anyone help me out - what products would I need to be able to create a fillable pdf form? And for a one page form with say 20 fillable fields, about how long would you say it would take to do this for a beginner (I am an experienced programmer)? Can a non-fillable form be converted to a fillable form or would I have to start from scratch?

Any suggestions or input is greatly appreciated!
