I would appreciate a pointer in the right direction. We have a number of PDF documents that we would like to mark on each page with a combination of stamp and annotation, e.g. "Approved by ......", where the "by....." would be completed on the spot by a name or number which may change from one document to another (therefore the process should be easily editable).
Ideally one should be able to reposition/resize the mark on each page of a document in order not to interfere with other text.
Once a document has been marked up in this way we would like to fix the marks permanently so that they can no longer be removed by other readers of the document.
We have tried stamps; they are difficult to modify/edit, hence we would have to create one stamp per document, and they can be removed.
We have tried watermarks; they are easily made/adapted, easily placed and resized, but just as easily removed unless the document itself is secured.
We have tried form fields; they also work quite well, but they are in the same place on each page and might therfore interfere with other text, however they are definitely fixed once the pages are spawned.
So nothing we can find so far quite meets all expectations.
Are there any other directions that we could explore? I should add that, if possible, we would like to avoid securing the documents via password etc..
Thanks for your advice
