Hi Aandi,
I have to object here - in Photoshop, if you include the vector
information in the saved file (which you can do with EPS or PDF as well
as PSD of course), afaik recent versions of Photoshop (I'm using CS) will
convert type to outline and use that outline in combination with image
masks to hold the text appearance. This still is not 'real text' but in
terms of output quality often just as good as what many people tend to
create using Illustrator, Freehand or Coreldraw.
