Topic: illustrator 9 to Distiller 4.0 problem with image resolution

Forgive what is probably a desperately newbie query, but I'm trying to distill a hi-res PDF of suitable resolution for printing from an illustrator 9 file. There is a small eps within the illustrator file which seems to get transformed to a low-res bitmap when distilled. I have disabled previews and the color is still fine, so I don't think I'm seeing a preview image. I've tried making this graphic into a very high-res bitmap instead, but it comes out in the same (low) resolution in the PDF, whatever settings I use in Distiller. The impression I get is that I can't get the resolution to exceed 150ppi or so. It is a fairly old version of Distiller (4.0) so maybe I just need to upgrade it, but would be delighted if anyone could shed some light on what the problem might be. Thank you!

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
