I am experiencing a major headache. Many of our clients have migrated to OSX Panther and either print to postscript or export to PDF from Quark/ID CS.
The PDF files supplied are passing all our PitStop controls, but any of them using AvantGarde book / demi / italic etc, (but not the condensed AvantGarde) lose both accented characters (??tc.) or the round characters (opqgcb etc) have jagged edges to them. We have tried to do a global font change in PitStop but in most cases we experience the same problem. We correct the round character problems, and sometimes the accents too, but in the main we lose accents and may have type flowing out of position.
We use both OS X and 9.x; InPosition 3.x; Acrobat 4 and 5 to rip via Flow Drive 5.1 to our Purup CTPs; PitStop Server 3.12; Pitstop Prof. 6.0.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
