Topic: Convert text to PDF Fields

Hello,

I am a newbie to this forum and have a question...

I would like to know if it is possible to search a pdf for a text string and either convert the found string into a Form Field or place a Form Field over the text and name the field based on the found text.
Examples of the text looks like this: 44-008-05.

One issue I'm encountering is when using getPageNthWord, it sees this text as multiple words instead of one.

I have a 9 page pdf which contains hundreds of these text patterers ("44-100-01") which was created in Illustrator CS and converted into a pdf. Instead of opening the newly created PDF in Acrobat and manually creating Fields over the existing text, it would be great if I could dynamically create the form Field using the size of the bounding text area. Is this possible? And
If so can any body lead me in the right direction. I would really appreciate any help.
