I've just spent two days in hell. For reasons I know not, I began to get Error 1317 when trying to print PDF files with Acrobat 6 (plus latest updates). I uninstalled the software in a misguided hope that this would help -- but reinstalling only produced the same error. I search via Google, and apparently quite a few people have encountered this error. If you EVER run into this problem, the best advice for fixing it is contained here: Follow all the advice, except the last step of "running Office Setup). Hope this saves someone the two days I wasted fooling around trying to fix the problem. Regards, Thad McIlroy Arcadia House

Today, with the PDF losing ground in emerging areas like mobile and eBooks, the calls for its ultimate demise are growing louder.
