Hi,

I convert a lot of PDF documents to DOC, RTF or other format using Gemini, Omnipage or the utility included in Acrobat 6.0.

However, neither of these utilities can manage the format accurately. For instance, when converting to Word, any of these utilities introduce many foreign elements that can be considered garbage (I mean format element, not wrong characters). I have not found a program or a way to deal with these elements different from a tedious manual reviewing and repairing of the converted documents.

Do you know of any extraction utility that betters the one I mention regarding maintining the format of the document?

Plase take into account that I never use the option (present in these programs) to convert the document into text boxes (it is generally an option to keep the format resemblance to the original). This is useless for most practical purposes.
