Does anyone know why Acrobat 7.0 (even the Reader) requires Internet Explorer (MSIE) under Windows? Does it make use of ActiveX in some way, or is it simply using MSIE to obtain HTTP transport mechanisms?
I've already discarded the activation requirement as the reason, since MSIE is listed as a requirement for Acrobat Reader 7.0, and it does not seem to require product activation.
