Topic: Problem merging pdf files

I am having a problem merging two pdf files. Each file is 50 pages of a 100-page document. When I merge the two files I add the second file to the end of the first file so that the pages are in number order. However, pages 51-100 of the merged file are all gibberish. I tried it several times and got the same result. Anyone have experience with this problem and/or know a solution?
