Can anybody give me an explanation as to why Acrobat 6 (MAC) does not make 4-bit or 8-bit ZIP compressions as effectively as Acrobat 4 on MAC? I just upgraded to Panther from OS 9.2, and have the full versions of Acrobat on both systems. When I distill under Acrobat 4
using 4-bit ZIP compression, my PDF file size is nearly half the size of doing a comparable ZIP compression under Acrobat 6. I cannot
figure out how to do the same kind of 4-bit or 8-bit ZIP compression in Acrobat 6. In fact, I can't even find the option for 4-bit and 8-bit ZIP, it only gives me the option for regular ZIP. Acrobat 4 gave the options for 4-bit and 8-bit zip compression in both "Color" and "Grayscale" images compression options.
Any thoughts? Help! Thanks, -CC
