Greetings.

I am writing a program that incremental updates PDF’s at run time. One of the requirements is to handle text with ‘strike through’ effects. I currently do this by drawing a very thin text box over the words with the strikethrough, and then delete the unwanted strike through at run time, and save the PDF.

I delete the objects by setting xref value to ‘f’.

This all works fine, and produces the effect that I want. However, if I print the PDF, all the text boxes on the PDF disappear. It’s as if the text boxes have been set to ‘Visible but doesn’t print’.

Can anyone solve this mystery?
