HELP!
I am a word processing supervisor. We just converted to WinXp, Office 2003, and Adobe 6. This is also a law firm and of course there are many "locked down" features and many items that we do not have access to consistency purposes.
Okay here are the two issues that we keep experiencing.
1 - If we extract pages, we get an error message that the document cannot be saved. Does not say why, just that it cannot. We have used a work-around by either A-emailing the document and then saving it, or B-Saving the document with a very unique name (i.e., Notice Records; Other File). But, this should not be. We should be able to save the file as we need to identify it (i.e., Notice Part A; Notice Part B). What can be causing this problem and how can we fix this?
2 - When we scan a document and then covert it to a PDF and then extract pages (yeah, we do a lot of extracting) we noticed that the file size increases considerably between the split documents, event if the pages are equal. One of the things that I noticed is that during the scan, the scanner picks up "black space." Could this be a reason why the sizes increase so much? What can be done to correct this? I figured to crop the page(s) with the "black space" and that would help to decrease the size. Any others suggestions?
Thank you in advance for your response:
