I'm trying out Acrobat 7, and it seems to be a very versatile application, but with a lot of what seems random limitations - and it's a huge resource eater.
The thing that puzzles me the most is why it is so difficult to change the page size. I scanned a document that was smaller than A4, and wanted it to be A4. By reading the Help file I finally managed to do the upward sizing with the Crop Pages Dialog in the Page Size section. It seemed a bit backwards, but it did the job.
However, I accidentaly changed another document to A3 which is larger than A4. And now there seem to be no way back. No undo, and, ironically, the Crop dialog is unwilling to actually crop, all smaller paper sizes are dimmed out. When I try and type a new dimension manually and press ok, in 90% of the cases it just closes the dialog and does nothing. 10% of the cases it states that the page size cannot be reduced.
Am I to beleive from this that Acrobat 7 is only able to make a page larger, but never smaller?
PS. Why is it that a page header/footer can be no smaller than 8 points. Is there some logical reason for this?
PPS. Does anyone know a pdf program other than Acrobat 7 that would be able to put page numbers on a pdf-document, because I haven't found one yet.
