Topic: Question about hyperlinks

I'm hoping someone can help me with a question about links in PDF documents.

I created an MS Word document and added a Table of Figures towards the front of the document. Each entry in the table is a hyperlink to an Appendix located at the rear of the document.

When adding the table of figures, I intentionally suppressed the page numbers and the dot leader.

After converting the document to PDF format, I noticed that the hyperlink for each entry in the table of figures is inactive. Yet, if I add the table of figures WITH the page numbers and the dot leader, the hyperlinks are active after converting the document to PDF format.

Just for clarification purposes, the hyperlinks do indeed work in the Word document, regardless of whether the pages numbers and dot leaders are added to the table.

Can someone please explain why in the PDF document the hyperlinks are inactive when the page numbers and dot leaders are suppressed, yet work when they are included in the table of figures.

Thanks,
Mike
