Hello
>> I'd be curious to know if I could have found this information otherwise than by asking you.
> It's in the Acrobat SDK... Because it really is an *extension* on Acrobat and not a function 'out of the box' I think it's fair to have this information in the SDK. Here's a good spot to start any research -
http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/acrobat/devcenter.html.
I have been there, of course. And it's not visible for people who don't have access to the full SDK. Plus you have to dig for it. (We're talking about the answer to the question whether plug-ins can access Designer forms info, let me remind you.) I would think the question is important enough to appear here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatpro/indepth.html
Since I didn't find any document here with a title specifically related to forms, I searched the 3 FAQs. No one had anything about it. The most promising one, judging by title, would be "Adobe Acrobat for IT professionals", wouldn't it ? But if you open it - surprise: it is about Acrobat 6, not 7. And, of course, it doesn't say anything about our question, on the contrary it would seem that it is possible to script PDF forms but not access them from plug-ins. About Designer forms they say nothing, but it's about Acr. 6.0 anyway.

Are you sure the link is good ? I tried it and it says the page has been moved or removed.
Now that's what I mean when I say that they are giving me a hard time finding an answer that would be best for everybody to be very visible. But who am I to say how Adobe should design their web site ?
>> Such as save the form data in an own-defined format (and in Reader, if it's possible (:-)).

I was joking of course, I may seem like sort of a newbie but not like this. I had a funny face there anyway.
> You mean encrypt just the XML data file? Not that I know of, however if users were perhaps submitting the form data (i.e. clicking a submit button in your form and the XML data is submitted over HTTP) you could encrypt it on the server using many particular encryption tools/technology.
Of course, it can be done in HTTP in a client / server dialog. I would say the actual signing has to take place at the client to be authentic. I was just wondering why no existing system does it.
Bye
