I have a problem with the pdf files i export form InDesign CS. It only prints figures and pictures, but the text is missing.

I have bypassed this problem by exporting the document as eps and then use Acrobat Distiller 7 to make the final pdf document. So far so good.

But now i am making a little more advanced document, where i have to use layers in the pdf document. I would like to exclude some elements from printing (for example a background color). But eps don't support layers.

So what can i do? Is there another way to exclude elements for printing or showing in pdf without using layers or have i messed up the settings in InDesign so the text won't print?
