I'm not too sure if this is the right forum, so apologies up front, if it isn't.

I am finding that our Firm's users lately are having inconsistent problems with trying to open pdf's from certain sites into Acrobat. Our Systems people are saying it is an Acrobat problem. I think it is actually an IE problem. For instance, a user called me yesterday to say when he clicked on the download pdf, the browser opened a window, and all he got was the little red x'ed box in the corner. However, when I sent myself the link, and tried it on my own PC, I had no problem. Systems then said it was because the user had a different version of Acrobat Reader then I have. Again, I have on my PC Reader 5, Reader 7 and Acrobat 5. (I know...why in the world would I have all that...again, I'm told Systems can't uninstall Adobe products.) I tried the same site with all three products, no problem. I then looked in my Tools/Options in IE, and found I had a selection called "enable third party browser extensions", which was selected. I am on IE 6.0.28. When I went back to the user, he didn't have that selection under his options, and he is on IE 5.50. Could this be the problem? I feel over my head when talking to Systems about IE and Third Party Plug-ins, so if someone could help me out with "easy" English, I would REALLY appreciate it. Thanks!
