Greets all you PDF GODS! :)
Ok so I am a noob when it comes to acrobat/reader development, though from what I have read I look foward to the fun of coding for it.
Mean while here is my problem..
I support about 60 users that have financial client information stored on PDFs yearly. I don't create these PDFs with PDX files myself, this is done at the capital level. Every year when fiscal info comes out I add the PDF and PDX file for that year to our server and add the searchable index to the "Select Index" window for the users.
I am preparing to roll out reader 7.0 when I discovered that I can't find the option to add the PDX file for searching current selected index's. Now I feel like a real noob because I can't beleave that option would disappear. But I am not staying on top of Acrobat/Reader development.
My other problem is in version 6.0 and earlier for reader I could simply double click on the PDX file and it would open acrobat and allow to search that index. If I try to do that in 7.0 I get a message that the file I am trying to open is corrupt or not a correctly formatted file..
Though 5.0 and 6.0 can do this with no problem..
Did 7.0 drop the ability to read PDX files? Or perhaps who ever is creating the PDX files have a copy of Acrobat that is to old for 7.0? The latter in my eyes seems more likely since the State is usually a few years behind..
Any help would be appreciated..
