Topic: Touch-up text different in 6.0?

The touch-up text tool icon has two diamond-shaped dots along the left edge. I remember in Acrobat 4 and 5, if I activated the touch-up text tool and clicked on some text, those diamonds would appear and allow me to drag them to move the text left or right.
I'm editing a Acrobat 4 or 5 PDF that I've edited before in 4 and 5 (it's an org chart that I need to change the names on now and then). But now those diamonds won't appear and I can't re-center the text.
What's up with that?
