I just wrote some Linearized PDF support for our application here and it all seems to work fine. However, the resulting PDFs won't open in Acrobat 4.0 or 5.0. 6.0 and above have no problems with it, and I don't see a "repairing document" dialog at all when opening it.

It's a very simple test PDF with two pages and a bit of text on each page, with one font. I can't figure out why Acrobat 4.0 has problems with this file, it's very strange. Attached is the PDF.

Also, this is PDF 1.3, and our non-linearized output works fine in Acrobat 4.0, though I had to change quite a bit to get Linearization to work so there could be structural problems with the PDF I'm not seeing yet.

If anybody has any ideas, I'd appreciate it.
