I have a VBA macro that must print a big number of MS-Word and PDF documents. The documents must be printed in the exact order they are submitted.
According to the extension of the file, I call either (Word)
Document.PrintOut ...
or (PDF)
ShellExecute(0, "print", FileName, "", "", SW_SHOWNORMAL)

Because Acrobat Reader prints asynchrounsly, the documents comes out in wrong order at the printer (MS-Word has time to print several documents before the PDF, which was sent before to the printer, appears in the printer queue).
To avoid this problem, I've put a timer that waits 4 seconds after PDF printing and before printing the next document.
Now, since we've upgraded Windows XP with SP2, it appears this this is not enough. PDF printing takes a long time.

Is there a solution ?
Where does this delay comes from with SP2 ? Is there a way to avoit it ?
Is there a way to automatically print synchronously with Acrobat Reader ?

Thank you

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
