Topic: Acrobat 5 JBIG2 Bugs

Acrobat 5 has some quirky issues with JBIG2 compressed images. For example, we had an image that was 1792x2889. It displayed fine in Acrobat6, but in Acrobat5, it was just a blank page -- didn't even get an error. After some tinkering, I found that resizing the height of the image by 1 pixel (either to 2890 or 2888) before compressing it fixed the bug and it displayed fine in both versions of Acrobat.

I also tried changing the width, but it wasn't until I shrunk it down to 1784x2889 or further that it displayed properly. I also tried images double and half the size to see if it was some kind of ratio issue -- it wasn't. They all displayed fine. So what is it with the height of 2889 that causes a problem? And what other "magical values" are there that need to be avoided?
