Topic: Convert image PDF to image+text PDF?

I have several thousand image PDFs that I would like to convert to searchable image+text PDFs. Software which can handle batch processing would preferred. I've tried OmniPage 14, but it appears to create significantly larger files in some circumstances, and in others the quality of the image drops as it appears it image is re-processed... and the batch processing "save" functionality forces users to either hand-enter a file name or one can have numbered file names (which wipes out any current files names one might be using).
I have PaperPort 9, and originally it was supposed to create image+text PDFs if OmniPage 11 or better was also installed, but all of our PDFs are prior to having OmniPage, and thus far I don't know a way to fix them after-the-fact.
Any ideas on how to batch-convert/OCR the current set of PDFs into searchable PDFs would be appreciated?
