I'm having some really strange issues with PDF files created on a Mac and opened and printed on a PC.
I have a QuarkXPress 6.5 file that has an Adobe Illustrator CS-created EPS file of a diagram placed in it. A PDF file was made from the Quark file using save as EPS and then using Acrobat Distiller (Professional) to create a PDF file.
The issue is that on a Mac, the diagram looks and prints fine, but on a PC, the text is missing all of the "L's". Additionally, there are lines drawn in the diagram that are dashed with arrowheads applied and those lines are missing when viewed on the PC.
To remedy this, I created outlines of all fonts and even outlined the stroked rules to create actual artwrok of the lines. Still, the placed EPS files are printing the same.
Are there any known anomalies with Illustrator files placed in Quark and then converted to PDF? Any help would be greatly appreciated! My client is wanting a solution ASAP!
Thanks!
