Topic: parsing inline images

The format for an inline image is:

BI
...
ID
...image data...
EI

We have a parser that looks for EI followed
by a carrage return and linefeed to detect
the end. We also have some pdf files with
the same 4 byte string in the image data
so the end is being detected too soon. The
parser used to look for a preceding
carrage return and linefeed but some pdf
files did not have this. It will also accept
a space intead of the trailing carrage
return and linefeed.

The PDF spec does not say white whitespace
or carrage return and linefeeds are required
that I could find. Should another method
e.g. calculation the bytes in image data
be used to find the end?

thanks Ed
