Hopefully that's 5.0.5 and not just 5, since Acrobat 5 wasn't
supported for XP.

HOW is he creating the PDF file from Word? Is he clicking on the
"Create Adobe PDF" button in Word? Is he printing to Distiller? If the
former, then the links will work. if the latter, they will not.

Reader 7 has a feature for auto-finding URLs even if they aren't
really links in the PDF.
