I have recently started transferring some papers to PDF format, and I have some questions about certain aspects of the process:

1. Is there a special way to draw underlined text, or do you just draw paths underneath the text?

2. I want to use the vowels with macrons over them from the Times New Roman font. According to the AFM files for the font, those characters are not encoded (they say C -1), but the characters appear in the font when I look them up in Character Map. Is there any way to get them to work in a PDF file?

3. Does kerning happen automatically when the code draws certain letter combinations (such as A and V), or do you have to explicitly include instructions for the kerning?

Thanks for any help.

BTW, I would also like to know the rules for the forum. I couldn't find a topic containing them.

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
