Topic: "Sealed Media" unsealer problem

I have a VB application that manipulates PDF files. It creates an acrobat session using

Dim objAcro As Acrobat.CAcroApp
Set objAcro = CreateObject("AcroExch.App")

and when done, closes it again using

Set objAcro = Nothing

with lots of other stuff happening between. Recently, some of our users installed an "unsealer" application that would allow them to read pdf files secured by "Sealed Media" and for these users my application failed. I was able to determine that VB is unable to "set objAcro = Nothing" -- when the code reaches that line, execution disappears into never-never land. There are no errors, it just gets stuck there and never comes back.

We've temporarily forbidden users from installing the unsealer software, but I've been asked to find a way to make my application work with it installed.

Anyone have any idea what causes this problem or how to get around it?

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
