I'm running AA6(Pro) and Office2000 (VB6) under WinXP Pro. I've embarked on a coding mission that involves generating a spreadsheet in Excel (via VB6) from textfile data (which I'm good at) and then using the spreadsheet as a template (from VB6) to generate a single PDF from many PDF's (via the IAC bridge to AA6, which I'm a complete novice at), which involves basically pulling individual pages out of PDF's and appending them, one at a time, onto a master PDF (which will then be the finished PDF, when all are appended). Bookmark creation will also be needed, using a paricular spreadsheet column as a source for the bookmark names and pages to bookmark. I've found code that should enable the automated bookmarking (using a MenuItemExecute to create an 'untitled' bookmark and then jso code to set it's title) from VB6. I have the free SDK for AA5 and am struggling to digest it. I've gotten snippets of code to work (such as opening AA6), so I know that at least some of the SDK for AA5 applies to AA6. The SDK for AA6 costs $100. Question: Is the object model for AA6 exposed to VB6 significantly different from the object model for AA5 to justify the $100 outlay for the SDK for AA6?
P.S. I see on Adobe Website that the SDK for AA5 isn't even available anymore, so if you have it, don't casually delete it-- it could be a $100 delete.
Thanks for any info in advance
