That's what I thought, and I've been relying on my customers' honesty so far, but the folks at Clicklocker insist that disabling "save as" can be done, and is done all the time by their other PDF-selling customers. They just neglected to tell me how it's done!

So, most people who sell e-books pretty much just hope for the best?
