Topic: doc to pdf in vb.net: strange error

I'm writing a program that generates reports in MSWord then converts them to PDF in Adobe Acrobat v6.0. Each report in the list is generated first as a doc then converted to a pdf. Now the first report runs fine, but for subsequent reports I get this error message:

System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80010105): The server threw an exception.

strOutputPDF, String strJobOptions)

Here is my code snipplet:
(SaveFilePDF is c:\....\filename no extension) 'create PS file
Try
 _oWord.Application.ActivePrinter = "Adobe PDF"
 _oWord.ActiveDocument.PrintOut(Copies:=1, PrintToFile:=True, Collate:=True, OutputFileName:=SaveFilePDF + ".ps")
Catch ex As Exception
 Console.WriteLine("Printer Error:" + vbCrLf + ex.ToString)
End Try

'close MSWord variables
_oDoc.Close()
_oWord.Quit()
_oWord = Nothing

'wait until ps file is complete
Dim thisFile As System.IO.File
Dim continueTime As DateTime
Dim pausetime As Integer = 1000
Dim filefound As Boolean = False
Dim filereader As System.IO.FileStream
Do While filefound = False
 Try
  filereader = thisFile.OpenRead(SaveFilePDF + ".ps")
  filefound = True
  filereader.Close()
 Catch ex As Exception
  Console.WriteLine("Waiting " + (pausetime / 1000).ToString + " seconds.")
  Sleep(pausetime)
 End Try
Loop
thisFile = Nothing

'convert ps to pdf
Try
 Dim Acro As New ACRODISTXLib.PdfDistiller
 Acro = New ACRODISTXLib.PdfDistiller
  Acro.FileToPDF(SaveFilePDF + ".ps", SaveFilePDF + ".pdf", "")
  Acro = Nothing
  'Kill(SaveFilePDF + ".ps")
  'Kill(SaveFilePDF + ".log")
Catch ex As Exception
  Console.WriteLine("Printer Error:")
  Console.WriteLine(SaveFilePDF + ".ps")
  Console.WriteLine(SaveFilePDF + ".pdf")
  Console.WriteLine(ex.ToString)
End Try

Thank you in advance.

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
