We have very clean paper documents that we are scanning and then saving to PDF in Acrobat 6.0 Professional and Standard. Ultimately, we end using the Paper Capture feature built into Acrobat to OCR the documents. We only recently noticed that Acrobat was not performing the OCR on anything within about 1/2 a inch of the bottom of the page. These documents routinely have text that runs right down to the very last printable portion of the page. Is this a known limitation with the Acrobat OCR engine. Other PDF and OCR products pick up the text at the bottom all day long. We have a sizeable investment in Acrobat 6 Standard and Pro and really want to make this work.
I have attached an example of one of our documents that Paper Capture will miss the text at the bottom right hand corner of the page.
