Is there an inexpensive tool or program that allows the protection of a PDF ebook for distribution? The requirements are:
* Cross platform distribution to Windows/PC and Macintosh
* Providing a unique ID and Password to each user who buys the ebook. It can either dynamically embed an ID and password to the PDF file before the customer downloads OR wraps around a PDF and provides the ID/Password authentication for the user to open.

I would think this is a common need or tool, but the limiation seems to be one that will work on both Mac and PC. Thanks.
