I have a Java based web application, and I need display a PDF file at a specified location. Depending on user input, a search needs to be performed in the PDF doc. Assuming the search always returns one result, I need display the PDF at the location where the match is found.
The file can be opened either in Acrobat or a browser.

I have the following questions:
1. Do I need a Java API for this? If yes, can anyone recommend the right API? I've done some searching on the web but I don't have a conclusion on which one fits the requirement yet.

2. Can I use the Acrobat JavaScript to do this? Does the Acrobat JavaScript work in a Java based web application?

I'm new to PDF, and really need some experts' opinions. I'd greatly appreciate your help.
