Hi All,

I have a situation with a coworker using Adobe Reader 7.0 on his machine.

At first this user emailed that he wasn't able to open certain PDF's and that they gave him an error "This file could not be opened (20)" and some would produce other errors like "out of range" or "object error"

I would have limited it to faulty files or incompatibility but when we tried opening the same files on a dozen or so other desktops with the same configuration and operating system they opened fine. I also tried logging in as myself to see if it was a profile issue and I received the same errors. I also tried un-installing all components of Adobe Reader and re-installing them

So I talked with my network admin and we agreed I would need to wipe the hard drive and reload the system because nothing else had worked. I wiped the hard drive and reloaded his system exactly how I load all of our systems and I still received the same errors from these files. I'm out of ideas. This is one of my coworkers and I'd really like to nix this issue and save him the annoyance this issue causes. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

For example, those document restrictions that PDF files sometimes have -- no Printing, Content Copying, Page Extraction, etc -- are essentially useless unless the PDF also has a User Password.
