I have a PDF document which contains numerous form fields. This document is opened by users who then enter data into form fields. There are a number of places where users may enter free form text to answer questions or provide detail as they move thru the form. For display purposes each time users enter new text, templates pages which display the text are deleted and recreated at the end of the document.
We have received a number of "corrupted" forms where this process seems to have gone horribly wrong. In these cases there are many blank pages at the end of the form, where the additional text would appear, that have controls with no properties (or field names). These pages cannot be deleted and the form cannot be saved-as without generating the error: "This document could not be saved. There was an error reading this document (43)". We also receive an "expected object stream" error upon attempts to re-open these damaged forms.
I noticed that these forms were created with the "Save as optimizes for web view" turned ON and have seen a number of responses on this site where people are told NOT to turn this feature on on a form with form fields. What is the affect of having this feature turned on in a form with form fields? Could this be my problem?
