I found this in my "to answer" pile, and I am not sure whether it has
been covered already...

It is possible that the optimizing for fast web view messed up your
document. When the document is optimized for fast web view, its
internal structure gets completely reorganized. When the saving is
done, the structure information gets reloaded, but not the complete
document. The consequence is that inthernal pointers point to "illegal"
places...

Another place of danger for the document is when it uses JavaScript to
set itself up. When there is a bug in those "set up" scripts, the
execution of the script stops, and you will end up with an incomplete
version. If your documents have this, it may sometimes be useful to
desactivate JavaScript before you save.

Another reason for these problems is buggy viewer software...

Also, for complex forms, it is not a good idea to optimize them for
fast web view because of performance issues. The idea of the
byteserving is to transfer only the needed objects, object by object,
from the server to the client. Forms have many very small objects,
which means that there is a lot of communication going on between the
client and the server. If not optimized for fast web view, the document
gets transferred in bigger chunks, requiring less overhead
communication traffic.

Hope, this can help.
