OK, I am a total newbie to my Acrobat 6.0

I am trying to create a PDF where the backgroud will always be light blur. I created the original document in Microsoft Word with the background but during the converting process it always changes it to White. How can I change the color to blue for good so that when I e-mail it the recipient will see that color.
