Topic: Automating PDF printing

Maybe the reason I haven't found an answer in the archive is because my question is too simple...? I have a database application where records have associated PDF files. Using Acrobat, I can automatically create the PDFs and store an index. So far so good. Now I want to select some (hundreds, perhaps) of the files to be printed (without any user interaction). I'm having trouble automating the printing. I'm hoping to accomplish this using only the Reader, so that printing is not limited to some central server. But I'm open to using Acrobat or possibly another tool (if the cost is reasonable). I do not need to edit the PDFs or do any other fancy things -- just print existing PDFs.

I know I can print with Acrobat via a command line style interface, but this seems to gobble up wads of memory (and is probably slow) -- not good for printing hundreds of files. I can see via an object browser that there are print functions available, but I haven't been able to get them to work. Others must be doing this! How? Thanks in advance.

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
