Hopefully this is the correct forum to post this in. Please forgive me if it's not.
Our company has a legacy application which generates simple, text only PDF files in version 1.1 of the file format. We now have a need to use acrobat to merge these files together, and to PDFs from other sources. This seems to work fine.
The problem we are encountering is that when you open one of these generated files in Acrobat and then click save some sort of conversion is performed. The new version of the file format is 1.6. The file resulting from this conversion cannot be merged into anything and throws a "Expected a dict object" error when attempting to insert its pages into another pdf.
I strongly suspect that there is a some sort of minor flaw in the PDF file we are generating which manifests itself only when the file is converted to a newer version of the PDF format.
I've attached a before and after version of a sample generated file. If someone who understands the format and what the conversion is doing could check it out it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much for your time.
