Hi Chris:
Can't. I've tried. In fact, I can't completely uninstall Adobe Reader 6.0. When I try to "change" or "uninstall" I get the message that "The feature that you are trying to use is on a network resource that is not available."
"Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'Adobe Reader 6.0.msi' in the box below."
The box below says "User Source" and gives the path"
"C:\WINDOWS\Cache\Adobe Reader 6.0\ENUBIG\"
I've used Explorer to search for "Adobe Reader 6.0.msi"
and it doesn't exist on my drive any more.
This may well be related to the issue I'm experiencing (inability to read pdfs in my web browsers).
Just tried again and got the same message. While I'm playing, I'm going to see if Acrobat 5.0 will "change" from Add/Remove Programs.
OK. Get a similar message there. It can't find the path to the install program for 5.0. (Which I've moved from two computers since buying.)
Any other ideas? If I could do a safe, clean uninstall of Reader 6.0 and then download 7.0, I bet all would be well. But I have no idea at this point how to safely, completely uninstall 6.0.
Best,
kwc
