RE: Trying To Get One Button on Every Page to Do the Same Thing

I've got a slideshow I'm working on. It has 60+ pages to it. There is a single button on each page. Identical in appearance and location.

The idea is that if someone clicks on the button, the slideshow will pause and the user is taken to another document where they get a question and multiple answers from which they can choose one.

In Acrobat 5, if I copied and pasted an object amongst several pages, if I modified that object, it was modified equally on all pages where it was located.

That doesn't seem to be the case with respect to JavaScript and button/objects in Acrobat 7. If I modify the button on one page, e.g., add a script action, it is not modified on all other pages where that button is located.

I presume this is supposed to be an 'improvement'. However, it means a LOT more work in establishing this project.

OR....

....should I build a document-level JavaScript and call upon IT from the buttons? And will that eliminate having to go into each button and point it at the doc-level JavaScript?

Regards....
