I'm toying with the idea of starting my own e-publishing company but i
am only likely to go ahead with it if i can be sure my e-publications will
be kept secure enough.
I've been scouring the net and so far the 2 companies that I've found
that appear to offer the safest pdf encrypting service are SecurSign and
LockLizard. But both are very expensive.
I am wondering if anybody knows of any software that provides more
options in addition to the usual (user and owner passwords, printing on
or off). Here is a list of what i would like:
1) Limit the number of times a pdf can be printed (rather that just
printing on or off).
2) Can prevent copying pdfs onto any media (CD, additional hard drive,
3) Can prevent pdfs being fileshared across networks or being accessed
by legal/illegal file sharing software.
4) I especially wondered if there was any IP address related security
e.g. only allowing printing from the IP address the pdf was originally
And some cheaper alternatives to SecurSign and LockLizard might be
nice to know about too.
I look forward to some advice,
